Non-Goals & Out-of-Scope Modules

Document Purpose: To maintain MVP focus, this document defines features and modules that are explicitly excluded from the Phase 1 Release. Some were initial non-goals, while others were deferred during the December 2025 scope reduction.

1. Advanced Clinical Decision Support

  • LLM-based treatment recommendations
  • Trial matching algorithms
  • Guideline adherence scoring
  • Survival/outcome predictions

Rationale: Requires large longitudinal datasets, regulatory approval, and clinical validation we don't have yet.
Future: Post-MVP Phase 2

2. Full Financial/Billing Workflows

  • Insurance pre-authorization automation
  • Cost estimation tools
  • Billing code suggestions (ICD-10, CPT)
  • Billing Integration (Deferred Dec 2025)

Rationale: Out of core competency; specialized billing systems exist.
MVP Includes: Display insurance type, basic coverage info if available.

3. Rich Lesion Tracking UI

  • Interactive RECIST measurement tool
  • Lesion target selection workflow
  • Automated tumor volume calculations

Rationale: Complex radiology workflow; most hospitals use dedicated PACS tools.
MVP Includes: Display RECIST measurements if provided by radiologist.

4. Global Multilingual Support

  • Languages beyond English + Hindi
  • Automated translation between languages

Rationale: Resource constraints; focus on India market.
Future: Add Tamil, Telugu, Kannada based on hospital demand in Phase 2.

5. Detailed Adherence Tracking

  • Medication compliance monitoring
  • Treatment schedule management

Rationale: Operational workflows best handled by existing hospital systems.
MVP Includes: Display medication list, appointment history if available.

6. Advanced Research/Cohort Tools

  • De-identification pipelines
  • Cohort query builder for researchers
  • Export to research data warehouses

Rationale: Research workflows are post-clinical-adoption priority.
Future: Phase 3 after achieving scale (10,000+ patients).

7. Deferred Ancillary Modules (Dec 16th Reduction)

The following modules were originally considered for MVP but have been deferred to Phase 2 to prioritize core clinical timeline and data ingestion stability.

A. Nurse Station & Vitals Automation

  • Automated Vitals Capture: Integration with IoT devices.
  • Nurse Worklists: Task management for nursing staff.
  • Rationale: Focus MVP on Physician/Oncologist view.
  • MVP Includes: Manual vitals entry forms.

B. OT & Surgery Workflows

  • OT Scheduling & Management
  • Intra-operative Documentation
  • Surgery Checklists (WHO)
  • Rationale: High complexity; existing HIMS modules usually suffice for pilot.

C. Pharmacy Inventory

  • Stock Management & Dispensing
  • Inventory Levels & Re-ordering
  • Rationale: Purely operational/ERP function, not clinical longitudinal record.
  • MVP Includes: List of prescribed medications (view-only).

D. Blood Bank

  • Blood Request Workflow
  • Donation & Cross-matching Management
  • Rationale: Specialized standalone requirement.

E. Diet & Nutrition

  • Diet Charts & Meal Planning
  • Calorie Tracking
  • Rationale: Lower priority than core oncology clinical data.
